Taho & Other Food Vendors Allowed As NCR Goes Under GCQ – Roque
TAHO VENDORS ALLOWED UNDER GCQ – Nostalgia is back as the government begins to transition from an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to a general community quarantine (GCQ).
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, roaming food vendors are now allowed to resume operations as long as social distancing practices are upheld. He added that these vendors are required to wear masks and keep a distance from customers.
One of the most nostalgic snacks for Filipinos is the taho. However, as time passed by, some of us may have taken the snack for granted. However, as the government imposed the quarantine, most of us surely missed this treat.
Meanwhile, according to an article from Manila Bulletin, Roque stated:
Pero kung magbebenta lang naman sila at titigil at magbebenta, magkaroon lang ng social distancing po sa pag-transact ng bilihin
However, Roque emphasized that vendors should check for the necessary requirements if they want to enter other cities within the Metro. The spokesperson stated that quarantine passes or travel passes are of importance.
Tanungin niyo rin po kung ano ang requirement sa inyong destinasyon. Hindi rin po natin maalis sa [local government unit] ang kanilang discretion
According to a report from Manila Bulletin, he explained that even though NCR would be under a GCQ, some local officials would still have quarantine protocols of their own.
The NCR is transitioning from ECQ to GCQ on June 1. But, health experts and some Senators such as Risa Hontiveros warned against a possible new wave of coronavirus infections following the shift.
