Brazil Coronavirus Update: 26,417 New Cases Recorded In Just 1 Day

BRAZIL CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – Health Ministry of Brazil has reported of registering 26,417 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, May 28.

With the outbreak first recorded in Wuhan, China, the once mysterious disease now called Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now a pandemic and has infected over five million of people taking away more than 360,000 lives. But, out of the said total confirmed cases globally, more than 2.4 million has recovered from the disease.

And following the United States in terms of most numbers of infected person is Brazil. On Thursday, May 28, the Health Ministry has accordingly recorded 26,417 new cases within 24 hours or in just merely one day. This is their highest single-jump in terms of confirmed cases as of ABS-CBN report. They now have a total of 438,812 confirmed cases.

The United States, as of this writing, they have registered over 1.76 million confirmed cases, over 379,000 recoveries, and more than 103,000 deaths. And in Philippines, as of May 28 update, 15,588 coronaviruse cases to which 11,069 of it are active cases, 3,598 have recovered, and 921 died.

In another report, aside from Brazil, the spread of virus in countries like Chile and Peru is also accelerating in such drastic pace. The Latin America has even accordingly outpaced Europe and the United States, this is in terms of daily infection logged in.

Carissa Etienne, director of the Washington-based Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), said that this is not the time yet for the most countries in America to relax their restrictions. A couple of weeks ago, a prediction has been made accordingly that Brazil will have 88,305 coronavirus deaths by August 4. And the possible number of deaths will range from 30,302 to 193,786.
