Brazilian Nurse Reunited w/ Baby After Giving Birth While on Ventilator Due to COVID-19

BRAZILIAN NURSE – Rusia Goes, a nurse in Brazil, gave birth to her baby while she was on ventilator due to coronavirus or COVID-19.

The COVID-19 has affected a lot of people across the globe. More than five (5) million were infected by the coronavirus disease, businesses were stopped, classes were cancelled, social gatherings are not allowed, etc.

Over 200 countries and territories have confirmed cases of this coronavirus. It was first recorded in China last December 2019. Now, it has spread across the globe.

One of the countries with a huge number of coronavirus cases is Brazil. Based on the global tally of Worldometer, more than 394,000 cases of the disease were recorded in the country. At least 24,000 died while 158,000 patients have recovered from it.

One of those infected by COVID-19 is Brazilian nurse Rusia Goes. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the 42-year-old nurse who was pregnant that time stopped working when the outbreak began.

However, the husband of Goes still have to go out for their groceries and to report to work. He suspects that he was the one who infected his pregnant wife.

Based on the report, the Brazilian nurse had a tough battle against COVID-19. She fell unconscious and was put on ventilator. She had to give birth while on ventilator at the Rio de Janeiro hospital so she could be treated better.

The baby was only eight (8) months old when the emergency cesarean section had to be done. The infant was negative for the disease and was separated from the mother as the nurse’s condition got worst. She was transferred to another hospital.

With God’s grace, the Brazilian nurse who had to give birth while on ventilator recovered from the disease. She has finally met her baby daughter, Luisa, 26 days after she gave birth to her. Speaking to Reuters, the nurse expressed her longing for her baby. Here’s a photo of them:
