350 OFWs Stranded In Kuwait Set To Return Home – OWWA

350 OFWs STRANDED IN KUWAIT – According to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), some 350 OFWs from Kuwait are set to return home this June.

Among the stranded OFWs are 7 pregnant women. The OWWA added that the OFWs are to be brought home on June 1 and 4. The Filipinos are returning home after staying at Ahmadi Shelter.

According to an article from ABS-CBN, when the OFWs arrive in Manila, they would undergo swab testing and the mandatory 14-day quarantine. However, if they are found negative for the virus, they could immediately go home according to OWWA admin Hans Cacdac.

Moreover, Cacdac suggested to the local government units of the OFWs respective provinces to not place them in quarantine facilities. As per the article, he stated:

No reason for them to be held in quarantine pagdating sa LGUs (local government units). If ever, home quarantine where they could be self-isolated and still be with their loved ones,

Moreover, he said that OWWA already noted that situation of the pregnant OFWs. Additionally, he emphasized that they would be given proper care and attention.

Along with this, Cacdac said that applications for the Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay program of OWWA would start next week.
