Shooting Incident In Sum-ag, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – A shooting incident recently occurred in Barangay Sum-ag,.Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on May 26 (Tuesday).

According to a Facebook post from the official page of The Visayan Daily Star, the incident occurred during lunchtime in the said area, as confimed by local city Police Office (BCPO) public information officer Police Lieutanant Colonel Arnel Pico.

As of this writing, Pico added that the details are yet sketchy and they still have to receive a report from the scene.

UPDATE

A report from Aksyon Radyo Bacolod states that the incident took place at Araneta Road, in front of Fiesta home wihtin Barangay Punta Taytay in the city.

The fatality was identified as Randolf Domingo, aged 38 from Alunan Baybay, Barangay 35. He is a pork vendor.

Police Station 9 Commander Lt. Jonito Pastrana reported that he arrived from Cauayan after he sold pork. He went off his vehicle to head to the toilet.

Just as he was coming back to his vehicle, assailants onboard a motorcycle approached him and shot him several times.

Initial information from Pastrana added that five gunfire sounds have been heard.

Pastrana added that the Domingo’s assassination was planned as he was mostly shot in the head.

They are currently in a hot pursuit operation as they chase the assailants who were said to have been heading north.

As per the report, Domingo’s business and illegal drugs might have been the motive of the crime since Domingo was previously arrested in Barangay Banago for the latter motive.
