A shooting incident happened in Bacolod City on May 21
A businessman identified as Roland Tan is in critical condition after a shooting incident happened on May 21 in Bacolod City.
To recall, days ago, a shooting incident was also reported in Bacolod. The victim was identified as Gerald Cuadra, aged 43. He is considered as one of the top drug suspects in the capital city of Negros Occidental. Based on a previous report, two identified suspects killed him last Saturday.
Last April 16, Manuel “Maui” Huelar, a former basketball player was also shot dead. Back in 2016, he was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island while he was still the chairman of Barangay 35.
On Thursday, another shooting incident took place. Businessman Roland Tan owns a store located at the Crown Agri Trading at Narra Avenue, Capitol Shopping Center. Based on the report from The Visayan Daily Star, Tan was shot at a close range as what witnesses stated.
A video posted on TVDS Facebook Page showed that the victim was immediately loaded to a car to be brought to the nearest hospital.
Based on the initial investigation, 7 bullets were fired by still unidentified suspects. In an interview with RMN Bacolod, the policeman said that the victim is in critical condition.
One of the staff members in the store of Tan shared that every time they will close the store, the owner would always go there. According to authorities, this might be the pattern that the suspects used for their target.
As of press time, the motive of the suspects are not yet identified. Authorities will also try to find information from the CCTV footage in the area.
In line with the series of shooting incidents in Bacolod City, authorities are positive that the suspects will be identified as long as witnesses will cooperate.
