DOLE also gave cash aid to Arnell Ignacio
Actor-turned-government official Arnell Ignacio received cash aid from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and here’s what he did with the P5,000.
Arnell previously served AVP for the Community Relations and Services Department of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for two years. Then, he was assigned to be the Deputy Executive Director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Following that, amid the pandemic, Arnell worked as part of the COVID 19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) that also received cash aid from DOLE.
Arnell shared in a recent radio interview, based on PEP’s report, that he went to DOLE’s office because he returned the P5,000 cash aid. He shared that his personnel applied for cash aid with complete documents and waited for the money to come.
He did not know that his name was included in the list and probably wasn’t aware of that because his personnel used his real name “Arnaldo Ignacio”. With that, he shared a photo of the receipt proving that he returned the cash aid.
“Kasi, ang mga ganoong bagay, ayaw mo nang… baka mamaya, mapag-usapan ka pa, e. Kaya ang pag-iingat mo talaga, hindi lang times 10, kundi times 100 talaga. Kasi, ang dami mong sasagutin, e,” he said.
He added that the fact that he is vocal about his views on certain issues and on defending the administration and this simple act may be used against him.
“Isipin mo, lahat ng reputasyon ko, nasira dahil lang sa five thousand?! Kapag ganito ang posisyon mo, lalo na kapag pro-government ka, ano, e… yung pag-iingat mo, talagang i-multiply mo ng 100 o one thousand, kasi sisilipin ka, e,” he added.
Based on the article, there have been talks regarding the return of Arnell Ignacio as an official in OWWA, however, it was not done immediately because of the enhanced community quarantine.
