Man Defying Curfew Protocol in Cavite Was Badly Beaten by Police

CAVITE – A man was badly beaten by police enforcing quarantine protocols after he was accosted of violating curfew in General Trias, Cavite.

The violator was identified as Ronald Campo. Campo endure bruises in his body as he was rushed to the hospital. Campo told his brother Rolando that police had done it to him.

According to the report of GMA News, Ronald and two other residents were taken to the police station for a curfew violation. Ronald said, after a push-up, police taken them to a dark place. In a panic, Ronald ran away so police chased him.

But according to police, Ronald was apparently intoxicated and on the run when he ran into the motorcycle and jumped into the creek with rocks and crushed bottles. Even though he was drunk, Ronald still climbed to the roof before entering a house where he was beaten by the residents.

He said the drunk man ran and jumped into a swimming pool 8 feet deep but had no water. It was there that the police arrested him. But he managed to escape and was caught by the mounds blocking the convenience store and was later taken back to the hospital.

Ronald is still in the hospital and is being guarded by police. After leaving the hospital, Ronald will be sent straight to jail and will be charged with multiple complaint.

“Nag-direct na ako ng investigators to gather information para mapagsama-sama natin at makumpleto natin ang buong storya ng nangyari,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Marlo Solero, hepe ng General Trias Police.

Meanwhile, the national government of the Philippine National Police will conduct investigation regarding to the incident, said Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

“Paimbestigahan po natin ‘yan. Tatawagaan natin mismo si PNP chief gamboa at titingnan natin kung ano nangyari diyan,” said Roque.

“Alam niyo naman po sa ating gobyerno, no one is above the law. Kung talagang may lumabag sa batas, mayroon naman pong imbestigasyon, paglilitis at pag-uusap,” Roque added.
