Frontliner Working In COVID Ward Only Gets P200 Hazard Pay

COVID-19 HAZARD PAY – A frontliner dishearteningly shares how she got only a P200 Hazard Pay for two months of working in a COVID ward.

The Philippines has struggled to contain the new coronavirus, COVID-19. As such, the DOH announced the hiring of additional health care workers back in March. Moreover, the government also declared a “Hazard Pay” for medical frontliners.

The pay should’ve been equal to P500 x number of working days physically reporting to work during the quarantine period. Thus, the frontliner should have received at most around P10,000 – P12,000.

Sadly, this wasn’t the case. The frontliner expressed the dismay on social media and posted a screenshot of the hazard pay received.
