DSWD RELIEFAGAD APP – In a bid to speed up the distribution of cash aid to families, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launches ReliefAgad.

The app was created to provide families with a faster way of registration for the government’s social amelioration program (SAP). Moreover, it aims to hasten the relief of cash aid to beneficiaries of SAP.

Recently, President Rodrigo Duterte approved the inclusion of an additional 5 million families into SAP. With the app in play, it would serve as a significant increase in the efficiency of the program.

Sa kasalukuyan ay ipa-pilot run pa muna natin ang aplikasyon ng ReliefAgad sa mga beneficiaries under the National Capital Region

According to an article from ABS-CBN, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao stated the app was developed in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Developers Connect Philippines, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

However, Dumlao stated that only beneficiaries with SAP forms could utilize the app. Additionally, she said families with SAP forms may access the app at www.reliefagad.ph and scan the barcode found at the bottom of their SAP forms.

As per the article, Dumalo stated:

Sa pamamagitan ng aplikasyong ito, mas magiging mabilis din ang gagawing balidasyon ng DSWD sa mga nakatanggap ng ayuda

Along with the registration feature, the app also has an electronic payment system which could be used by beneficiaries to get the second portion of the COVID-19 cash aid.

Because of the coronavirus crisis, the government allocated P200-billion as emergency subsidies worth P5,000 to P8,000.
