Currently, there is yet to be a vaccine for the new coronavirus. However, several drugs have already undergone human trials and are awaiting results.

Meanwhile, China’s National Health Commission deputy director, Zeng Yixin, stated that the 5th vaccine candidate from China showed no “major adverse reactions”. According to a report from GMA, the participants of the study were around 2,575.

According to the plan, if all goes well, the above projects will complete the second phase of clinical trials in July this year

However, Zeng did not disclose when the trial’s third phase would be approved and finished. As per the report, the drug was administered to a group of volunteers and a placebo was given to a control group.

Aside from the 5 vaccine candidates from China, researchers around the world also have hundreds of vaccines in the works. An Indian-based firm was said to be working on a vaccine that could be finished on September.

Although some countries like Madagascar had already claimed to have found a cure for the coronavirus. Moreover, the somewhat miracle elixir was even promoted by the head of the country. However, experts strongly urged against its use.

Experts believe that it would take at least 12 to 18 months before a vaccine may be developed. Meanwhile, some stated that it could take up to two years for a vaccine to be released.

Still, the World Health Organization warned that even with a vaccine, the coronavirus may never go away.
