KURT COBAIN – The acoustic guitar of Kurt Cobain during his “MTV Unplugged” concert is up for auction to help fund the World Health Organization’s (WHO) coronavirus relief.

Nirvana’s frontman Kurt Cobain is considered one of the most iconic musicians in the world. Unfortunately, he died at a very young age. He struggled with depression and illegal substances during the last years of his life.

The American singer-songwriter was hailed as “the spokesman of a generation.” He was idolized by millions of people.

In October last year, Kurt Cobain’s tatty green cardigan from his ‘MTV Unplugged’ concert was sold for $334,000. Courtney Love, his widow, was the one who gave him the sweater.

His performance during the MTV Unplugged concert on November 18, 1993, is considered one of the greatest live albums. Based on a report from Philstar, the guitar he used during the show is up for auction.

According to the report, Nirvana is among the bands who are stepping up to help amid the pandemic. They help raise money coronavirus Solidarity Response Fund of WHO.

Kurt Cobain’s acoustic-electric 1959 Martin D-18E is set for auction on June 19 in Beverly Hills and online auction by Julien’s Auctions. The starting estimate for his guitar is $1 million.

Based on the report, Kurt Cobain’s guitar will be displayed in London’s Piccadilly Circus Hard Rock Cafe window on May 15-31. Also up for auction is his metallic silver lame long sleeve shirt (starting at $10,000) and smashed Fender Stratocaster guitar (starting at $60,000).
