400 Community Quarantine Violators In Quezon Province Nabbed

QUEZON PROVINCE – Around 400 individuals who allegedly violated ECQ protocols implemented in Quezon City were nabbed from May 1 to 7.

This was a statemen from Quezon police chief Colonel Audie Madrideo, according to a report from Inquirer.

Around 232 suspect were charged with violations of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

151 more were filed for violating Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code, which penalizes resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person.

Meanwhile, the other arrested will be charged for cases involving direct assault, alarm and scandal, grave threats, unjust vexation, disobedience of orders, price gouging, and other crimes

The police chief said that these violators were alowed to go home after they were being booked to prevent COVID-19 transmission in overcrowded jails.

Madrideo, however, made it clear that the charges against violators were recorded and would appear once they apply for a police clearance.

They would be then be required to appear before the court after the COVID-19 crisis.
