The water supply in Metro Manila is still enough for May and June as the water level in Angat Dam is expected to drop further due to the soaring heat index reported in the country, said NWRB executive director Sevillo David Jr. in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

David said that Angat Dam can still supply over 90 percent of Metro Manila’s water needs. However, he added that every five to six days the water level in Angat Dam could drop a meter due to extreme heat.

Previously, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported a record-high heat index of 53°C heat index in Butuan City. The high temperature was record at the afternoon, 2 p.m.

The second hottest temperature takes place in Ambulong, Tanauan City recording at 51 degrees °C, followed by Sangley Point in Cavite City with 51°C, Clark in Pampanga with 46 °C, and Maasin City with 46 °C, based on the report of GMA News.
