Kapamilya broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez fired back to a netizen who criticized her tirade against Solicitor General Jose Calida regarding the ABS-CBN franchise issue.
After the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued a cease and desist order against ABS-CBN, the TV network and its affiliate went off-air. Because of this, several employees of the network expressed their grievances on social media.
As Korina has been part of the network for several decades now, she also aired her thoughts regarding this issue on her social media post. She criticized the Solicitor General for making the effort to shut down ABS-CBN. To recall, Calida threatened the NTC regarding the provisional authority it has given to the TV network.
For the broadcast journalist, shutting down her home network is an abuse of power. In line with that, a netizen commented, “Anong abuso?? Wala na kayong franchise! That’s it! Sus!!”.
Korina Sanchez fired back to this comment from Instagram user @romelaigne. The broadcast journalist said, “please leave. Bruha ka.”
That reply of the broadcast journalist to the netizen received various reactions from netizens on the Facebook Page of The Scoop. Some netizens criticize Korina also for what she answered to the netizen while some questioned her remark against SolGen Calida. Here are some of the comments.
Meanwhile, the Palace denied that it has something to do with the decision of NTC to stop the broadcast of ABS-CBN after its franchise expired on May 4. Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said that the personal matter between President Rodrigo Duterte and ABS-CBN when the former accepted the apology of the latter.
