Businessmen Jaime and Fernando Zobel de Ayala of Ayala Corporation release statement over president’s apology.

AYALA CORPORATION – Here’s the statement of chairman/CEO and president/COO of Ayala Corporation, Jaime and Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

In a previous report, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said he was humbled and promised to be nice after apologizing to the Ayala clan and Manny Pangilinan. This is after these big businesses in the country went hand in hand to help people in need amid the crisis brought about by COVID-19.

He apologized for all the foul remarks he expressed last year against them. Pangilinan is Metro Pacific Group of Companies and Maynilad’s head while Fernando Zobel de Ayala is Manila Water Board chairman. They are two of the biggest main water concessionaires in the country.

Now, after his apology, Ayala Corporation’s chairman/CEO and president/COO Jaime and Fernando Zobel de Ayala expressed gratitude for the president. In their statement, they believed that one way to improve the lives of the people is the strong partnership of the public and private sectors especially during this time of pandemic.

They also said in their statement that they are committed to help the president with what he has to go through for the country. Surely, by “working together”, the country can overcome challenges, save many lives, and eventually “put the country back on a path of growth”.

On the other hand, Pangilinan also acknowledged the president’s apology filled with sincerity and kindness. They are also willing to build partnership with him in addressing the people’s needs and for building a “better tomorrow” for them.
