Elderly Woman Becomes Emotional Receiving SAP Cash Aid Goes Viral
CEBU – an elderly woman becomes emotional when she finally received the Social Amelioration Program cash assistance from the government.
Since the Philippines was stricken by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the government is already distributing relief goods and giving cash aid or known as the Social Amelioration Program to help the residents whose jobs were affected by the lockdown protocols.
Recently, a photo uploaded by the Facebook page named Iskina Cebu shows an elderly woman in tears of joy while holding the Social Amelioration Program Sap form with P6,000 cash on her hands. According to the post, the emotional elderly woman came from Dumanjug, Cebu Province.
Many have been touched by the emotional old woman saying that these kinds of people deserve to be given cash aid. As a result, the post reached over 30,000 reactions, 1,000 comments, and 19,000 shares.
She was one of the qualified recipients who can receive government assistance for the residents whose livelihoods were greatly affected by the public health crisis. Under government assistance, low-income households, including senior citizens, persons with a disability, single parents, overseas Filipinos in distress, and pregnant mothers can receive.
Previously, the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) extends the distribution of SAP cash assistance after they set the deadline on April 30. This, because some LGUs have not been able to provide assistance on time.
