PAGASA – Intertropical Convergence Zone To Affect Mindanao This May 1, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) this May 1, 2020.

The state bureau’s latest weather update states that the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will affect Mindanao on this day.

According to a report from GMA News, the bureau is also observing a Low Pressure Area (LPA) which was last spotted at about 695 kilometers east southeast of Davao City.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bringcloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the entire Mindanao.

As usual, the bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur due to severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila, as well as the rest of the country, will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to easterlies or warm winds from the east, as well as localized thunderstorms.

As per the report, for the forecast wind speed, the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will have strong winds that are moving in the northeast to north direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
