PAGASA – Low Pressure Area Spotted Near Davao, Intertropical Convergence Zone To Affect Areas In Philippines This April 30, 2020
PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) this April 30, 2020.
The early morning forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will be affecting eastern Visayas and Mindanao.
According to GMA News, the bureau also spotted a Low Pressure Area (LPA) which is located at about 855 kilometers east southeast of Davao.
Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will face cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, as usual the northeasterly surface windflow or NESWF will bring cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands.
Lastly, the warmwinds from the east or easterlies, as well as localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over MEtro Manila and the rest of the country.
As per the report, for the forecast wind speed, extreme northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds that are moving eastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast to north direction with moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
