According to SunStar, the statement by CCPO chief Colonel Josefino Ligan came after the city mayor Edgar Labella released a new executive order (EO) which allows the selling of alcohol.

Labella’s Executive Order No. 71 states that residents in the city are allowed to purchase liquor, on one condition that they are to drink inside their homes.

Those who will be caught red-handed for drinking late at night and getting drunk will be arrested and charged upon.

“If they go out drunk, that’s another story. We will impose the disobedience ordinance because it clearly violates the executive order again,”

Ligan added that he has no complaints regarding the recently-released EO since he understands how residents feel after having been quarantined for more than a month.

However, he urged people to drink responsibly and refrain from making a ruckus during the implemented ECQ.

As per the report, enhanced security was implemented in Sitio Callejon, Barangay Labangon in the city, where there are more than 120 positive cases as of April 28.
