Irish PM Joins Frontliners To Help Test Residents For COVID-19
IRISH PRIME MINISTER – Leo Varadakar, the Irish Prime Minister (PM) joins frontliners in a testing drive for COVID-19.
The PM was spotted helping frontliners test residents of a Dublin community after he re-registered as a doctor. Prior to going into politics, Varadakar had worked as a doctor.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, he re-registered again as a doctor to personally assists in the fight against COVID-19. According to an article from The Sun, the PM was seen in Morgan’s Place in Blanchardstown.
The PM’s hands-on approach was lauded by netizens and residents. According to a city counselor, Varadakar’s actions are sending a “really positive message”.
As per the report, the PM vowed to work with the HSE once a week as a frontliner against the virus. Moreover, the PM reported he had worked three shifts and carried out phone assessments since March.
Leo Varadkar studied medicine in Trinity College before entering the world of politics. He worked as a doctor for about seven years before going into politics full time.
Furthermore, the PM worked for four years in several hospitals including St James in Dublin, Beaumont, Blanchardstown, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Holles Street, Tallaght, Navan and Wexford.
Additionally, the former Health Minister of Ireland was the son of an Irish nurse and an Indian doctor. Meanwhile, his partner, Dr. Matt Barrett was a cardiologist.
In the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, people praised the Irish PM for setting an example to the people. Meanwhile, others emphasized the difference of having a politician like Varadkar.
