Cops Nabbed 44 Chinese During Raid in Parañaque City
44 CHINESE – Cops arrested 44 Chinese nationals during a raid on an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) operation in Parañaque City.
In a previous article, Senator Richard Gordon said the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) covers for spies from China. Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan called ‘immediate closure’ of the online gambling firms.
Pangilinan said POGO was allegedly involved in bribery, corruption, prostitution, and other illegal activities in the Philippines. Senator Franklin Drillon called the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) “stupid” for allowing the online gambling services to continue its operation.
Due to the “enhanced community quarantine” (ECQ) in Luzon, all forms of gambling are not allowed. The ECQ will continue to be effective until May 15.
Based on a report from GMA News, cops conducted a raid on illegal POGO operation on Saturday, April 25, in Parañaque City. They arrested 44 Chinese nationals for conducting illegal online operations in a house amid the ECQ.
Police officers confiscated P1.3 million cash and five (5) firearms in the location. The photos were shared on GMA’s Twitter account.
