Local police chief Captain Marcos Lopez said that the victim, identified as Auxelio Cafe, 53, a resident of the town, died on the spot after he was shot to death, according to Bohol Chronicles.

Lopez added that Cafe received multiple gunshot wounds in his back. Furthermore, crime scene probers found five empty shells from a 9mm caliber pistol.

The police chief deduced that the assault might have something related to illegal drugs since the victim is a known drug pusher and was included in their watch list.

They, however, continue to probe to identify the two suspects and the motive behind the crime.

“Basin nagkuha ni og dako na kwarta or dako na butang unya wa kabayad pero nagpadayon mi sa kapulisan og pagpangita og suspect ug pakisusi aron masulbad ni,”

As per the report, Cafe was once marked as one of the suspects in assassinating a police officer named Alfredo Butron in the same town way back in 2007, Lopez said.

They noted that he was indicated as one of the killers by several witnesses but was eventually released from prison after the other suspect admitted that he was the sole gunman in the murder of Burton.

The victim was known to be violent when drunk.

“Problema to siya diri sa among lungsod kay kung mahubog to siya, mangulata…kung mo labay ka, di ka kahatag [kwarta] kulatahon ka. Daghan na og reklamo ning tawhana, mao usa pud na sa among gitan-aw na anggulo,”
