4 Medical Personnel w/ Coronavirus Disease In Region 6 Recover

The medical personnel who have coronavirus disease in Region 6 finally survived.

CORONAVIRUS DISEASE – Medical personnel who contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Western Visayas have finally recovered.

The confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines are definitely growing in each day with no less than a hundred persons recorded everyday. And particularly in Region 6 (Western Visayas), out of 53 cases, five (5) of them were medical personnel.

Two doctors, one nurse, and one radiological technologist as per previous article. They were under home quarantine and 4 of them have travel history outside the region and this is probably the reason why they got the virus says Department of Health-Center for Health Development in Western Visayas (DOH-CHD 6) spokesperson Dr. Renilyn Reyes.

And now, in a report from the Daily Guardian, the spokesperson shared through an online press briefing on Thursday that the medical personnel who got the virus have finally recovered. But those were just 4 out of 5. The remaining one personnel who tested positive for the virus was now just waiting for the result of another test administered.

The two health workers were accordingly from Iloilo City, two from Iloilo province, and one from Aklan. While four of them got the virus due to travel history, the one patient got the virus after he got exposed to someone who was able to travel outside Western Visayas.

They are hopeful that the remaining test will gain negative result. Meanwhile, according to April 23 coronavirus-related figures in the country from the Department of Health (DOH), the total cases climbed up to 6,981 with 462 deaths and 722 recoveries.
