Soldiers, Policemen Team Up, Arrests More ECQ Violators
ECQ VIOLATORS – Soldiers and policemen team up and arrested more ECQ violators from different areas following the order for stricter imposing of ECQ.
An article from GMA News states that five people from Barangay 178 in Maricaban, Pasay City were caught for not wearing face mask and did not observe curfew hours.
Among them were one who claimed he was sleeping in front of his house not knowing that it is prohibited. The other four were caught roaming the streets without face masks and quarantine passes.
Barangay Captain Virgilio Mabag said that they were hard to manage, especially those who were invlved in illegal drugs.
Soldiers are now patrolling the streets and more residents are staying at home.
Meanwhile, some personnel from the Philippine Army joined forces with the Philippine National Police in scanning passing vehicles.
They also checked vehicles in special lanes such as ambulances, as well as in rapid pass checkpoints where they scan QR codes in mobile devices to see of motorists are authorized to travel. Motorists, on their part, said that they appreciate the stricter measures.
As per the report, Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar, who chairs the Joint Task Force Corona Virus Shield (JTF CV Shield) made a directive to arrest those who would violate ECQ protocol.
“With your presence, at magpapatuloy pa rin sila sa paglabag sa mga alituntunin ng ECQ , hulihin niyo,”
On the other hand, the Special Action Force (SAF) assured that the operation against insurgency is not being overlooked despite with the desigantion of some of their staff who were reassigned to ECQ enforcement.
The Philippine Air Force’s combat unit in Trece Martires, Cavite were assigned to patrolling the streets in the city.
