This CCTV footage showed the shooting incident that happened in Quezon City

A CCTV footage showing the police shot an alleged mentally-challenged man that happened in Quezon City surfaced.

Based on the Twitter post of CNN Philippines correspondent Gerg Cahiles, the said incident took place last Tuesday. His post has this caption: “WATCH: Police shot a mentally-challenged man in Pasong Putik, Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon. Residents nearby tried to stop the policeman from shooting but they were just told to get inside their homes.”

Following this, Cahiles said that another video is circulating showing that before the police shot the man, he was reaching for his sling bag. According to the correspondent, witnesses said that the man has no firearm in his bag.

However, Twitter user @kapagodnaman commented with a photo showing what appeared to be the police report of the said shooting incident in Quezon City. Basing on what was stated in the report, the suspect was identified Winston Ragos y Aquino, 34 years old. It was also stated that he is married, and a retired AFP personnel.

Also stated in the report that the suspect approached Police trainees guarding the area saying, “Ang sama ng tingin mo. Anong problema mo?” Then, PMSg Daniel Florendo checked the man and warned to raise his hands. However, the suspect tried to reach something inside his bag and police fired two gunshots.

The said netizen also shared the other video circulating online that showed another angle.

It can be heard in the video that residents in the area tried to go near the man but the police told them to back off.
