This she informed the people through online press briefing on Tuesday, April 21, as per the Daily Guardian report. Two of the coronavirus-infected medical personnel are doctors, one is nurse, and the other one is a radiological technologist. Accordingly, the patients got the virus outside the region because they’ve all had a travel history outside Western Visayas.

Four of them are now in stable condition based on the spokesperson and were under home quarantine. In order to contain the spread of the virus, they are strict over infection and disease prevention protocols of hospitals. This includes that of the subnational reference laboratory at Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City.

Those who are considered at high risk and those handling COVID-19 specimens should be doing confirmatory testing every two weeks to ensure safety and prevent transmission of the virus. They are closely following the safety measure and protocols as 40 personnel from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) have got the virus and they are avoiding for this to happen.

In April 21 update from the Department Of Health (DOH), 6,599 total confirmed cases were recorded with 437 deaths and 654 recoveries.
