HEHERSON ALVAREZ – The hospital bill of the late former senator Heherson Alvarez reached a whopping amount of Php 8-million according to his son.

Due to Coronavirus Disease 2019, the former senator Heherson Alvarez’s life was taken at the age of 80. The announcement was made by his son on April 20 which is weeks after he and his wife theater actress Cecile Guidote Alvarez tested positive and were in critical condition.

While he died, his wife was recovering. His son Hex Alvarez, said in an interview that his father was actually living a healthy lifestyle before he got the virus. During the first 20 hours, his father’s condition was then improving, however, the virus deteriorated the health of his father until his internal organs started not to function well.

The hardest part of it all was that they never had the chance to be with him during his final moments. And now, according to ABS-CBN report, their eldest son revealed that the hospital bill of his father reached almost Php 8-million.

He said to DZMM, “Nakikiisa ako sa mga biktima ng COVID-19. Helpless talaga tapos yung gastos pa, napakalaki. Kahit kami ay nahirapan po sa gastos. Hindi rin naman po kami saksakan ng may pera.”

They are hoping that PhilHealth will reimburse their expenses most especially that both of their parents got confined due to the viral disease and they are not that rich to easily let out such huge amount. To recall, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. said that patients who got admitted before April 15 will have their hospitalization cost reimbursed.

The late senator was cremated on Monday night while his wife will be under isolation until May 1 as per the report.
