According to GMA’s Balitambayan, furthermore, they are ordered to walk with one of their hands tied and connected to a long rope.

Among them were those who were caught drinking alcoholic beverages while others were caught not wearing any face masks.

The violators testified their reason for violating. Here are some of their testimonies:

“Kasi ‘di po namin alam na ngayon po pala tinaga ni Duterte ‘yong curfew,”

(We were not aware of the curfew imposed by President Duterte)

“‘Di naman kami nawalay ho sa harap ng bahay. Suma-shot lang kami ng kaunti para makatulog,”

(We were not far away from the front of our house. We drink liquor to help us sleep)

One group of violators was designated to walk in EDSA while another group was designated to head to the New City Hall.

They were taken to a vacant lot, register their names, and sanctioned by the Caloocan Police chief.

The chief further urged them to stay at homes as frontliners are having a hard time. The chief added that they made this sanction since taking them via public vehicle would not observe social distancing guidelines.

As per the report, the violators were not asked for a fine as of the moment but those who were caught not wearing masks in public places are charged with a ₱5,000 fine.

Curfew violators will be charged with a ₱3,000 fine and a range from ₱500 to ₱1,500 fine will be charged for those who were caught drinking alcoholic beverages.

Lastly, those who will not observe physical distancing will face a ₱5,000 fine or up to six months improsonment.
