Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello Confirms Sister’s Death Due to COVID-19

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello confirmed that his sister died of COVID-19 or coronavirus.

Several people lost their lives due to COVID-19. This pandemic has held a lot of countries captive to its outbreak which can rapidly infect a lot of people in a very little time.

One of the countries that is fighting against coronavirus now is the Philippines. According to the Department of Health (DOH), a total of 5,878 cases of the disease where confirmed in the country.

Out of the said total count, 487 have recovered while 387 died of the disease based on the update from DOH yesterday, April 17. The country is still on a tough fight against the pandemic.

Recently, another fatality due to COVID-19 crossed the surface. Based on a report on GMA News, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III confirmed that his sister died of COVID-19.

According to the Labor Secretary, it was this morning when they found out that his sister, Cathy, has passed away. He tagged her as his “favorite sister”.

As of this writing, there are still no further information regarding the matter. More updates may be posted soon.
