An owner of a local Australian supermarket has angrily denied a customer who attempted to return the large amount of toilet paper and sanitizer he bought during a panic buying at the start of the coronavirus outbreak.

The customer bought almost 5,000 rolls of toilet paper and 150 bottles of 1-liter hand sanitizer that he plans to sell online at higher prices. But unfortunately, the hoarder couldn’t sell it online.

According to the report, John-Paul Drake, owner of Drakes Supermarkets in Adelaide, the hoarder wants to return what he bought and asked to refund the $ 10,000 paid because eBay, an online marketplace, has not allowed him to sell the product.

In a video he shared on YouTube, Drake narrate his conversation with a hoarder trying to return the products he bought. Drake said recent panic buying of toilet paper had been “absolutely ridiculous” with the company selling eight months’ worth in four days at one point.

“2020…the year of toilet paper. The scenes that everyone has seen with the toilet paper have been absolutely ridiculous. I had my first customer yesterday who said he wanted to get a refund on 150 packets of 32-pack toilet paper and 150 units of one-liter hand sanitizer,” Drake said in the video.

But one customer’s behaviour was worse than the others. Drake said the man had come into the store to get his money back after website eBay refused to allow him to sell the items online.

“My eBay site has been shut down, so we couldn’t profiteer off that,” his customer said to him.

Drake showed in his video his middle finger as his answer to the hoarder who wanted a refund. “I told him that. That is the sort of person who is causing the problem in the whole country,” he said.
