Update From DOH About the Coronavirus Cases in the Philippines

DOH – The Department of Health confirmed 291 new cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the Philippines.

Philippines is one the countries fighting against COVID-19 now. The said strain of coronavirus has taken over 100,000 lives across the globe.

The COVID-19 was first recorded in China – specifically in the city of Wuhan. After over 81,000 infections and 3,300 deaths, China is now recovering from the outbreak of the disease.

However, several other countries are now experiencing a coronavirus outbreak. The United States is currently the nation with the most number of COVID-19 cases after recording over half a million now.

In the Southeast Asian region, the Philippines is the country with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. It recently surpassed Malaysia and, according to the Department of Health, an increase may still be expected as more and more testings are done.

Recently, the DOH gave an update regarding the coronavirus cases in the Philippines. The health department confirmed 291 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the total to 5,223 now.

Twenty (20) new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported bringing the death toll to 335. According to the health department, with regards to the recoveries, there are 53 new recoveries which bring the total to 295.
