Angel Locsin Raises Staggering Amount For COVID-19 Patients
ANGEL LOCSIN – Philanthropist Angel Locsin stopped her hospital tent fundraiser after she hit a staggering amount.
Aside from acting, Angel Locsin is also known for her philanthropic work. In fact, she was hailed as one of Forbes’ ‘Heroes of Philanthropy.”
Last month, the ‘Darna‘ actress launched a crowdfunding campaign called #UniTENTweStandPH to provide more isolation tents in a bid to combat the 2019 novel coronavirus crisis in the country. Celebrity couple Nico Bolzico and Solenn Heussaff immediately supported her cause. They said they have donated two (2) tents for the COVID-19 patients.
On March 29, Angel Locsin gave an update about her crowdfunding campaign on her Instagram account. She announced that she has raised over P3 million. The isolation tents will be distributed to 28 hospitals in Luzon
On Easter Sunday, the prominent actress announced that they will no longer accept donations because they already reached their target. She said they have raised P10.9 million.
“Because of your overwhelming support, we are happy to announce that we have sufficiently funded the #UniTENTweStandPH campaign…”
“With a full and grateful heart, we are now ending the fundraising and will no longer accept CASH donations through PayPal, Paymaya, or bank account,” she wrote.
In her Instagram video, Angel said the money will be used to build 150 hospital tents to address the overcrowding in hospitals. She also showed the breakdown of expenses.
