Pimentel was previously criticized by the masses for blatantly breaking quarantine protocols. Afterward, Pimentel pleaded to the public to empathize with him as he was simply doing his duties as a father and a husband.

We could recall that even after being told to undergo self-quarantine, the Senator went to a hospital with his pregnant wife. This didn’t sit well with the hospital, staff, and netizens who demanded the Senator be put to justice.

However, since that time, little to no development has been made with regard to the case of Pimentel. But, on Thursday, the Senator made a plea to the DOH to provide mothers-to-be who tested positive for COVID-19 with a “game plan”.

DOH should be reminded to come up with protocols on ‘childbirth in the (COVID-19) era’ just in case they haven’t yet

Pregnant women are one of the most vulnerable at this time. They worry about (COVID-19) and they worry about their pregnancy

He added that “professional competent attention to this matter” must be provided by experts. Furthermore, the Senator emphasized that a venue for delivery must be provided.

Along with this, he said that there must also be a team of “heroic doctors, nurses, and other health workers” who would be willing to work on these cases should be identified and properly equipped as soon as possible.

The Senator who was positive for the virus raised his concerns more than a week after his wife gave birth to their first daughter.
