Doctor in Negros Occidental Got Arrested for Defamation of Authorities
An arrogant doctor in Negros Occidental got arrested and jailed for defaming policemen manning at check-up point of Bacolod City border.
In a report of Bombo Radyo Bacolod, Dr. Howell Exmundo, a medical officer 3 and resident of Sagay City, Negros Occidental was halted by the policemen at the border checkpoint of Bacolod and Talisay, April 4, Saturday.
Exmundo said that he will go to Bacolod for the repair of his bike. Because his matter is not important police officers doesn’t allow him to enter Bacolod. As a result, Exmundo badmouthed at policemen and got arrested.
According to report, Bacolod City Police Office spokesperson Police Lt. Col. Police Ariel Pico, said the doctor should be aware of the policies implemented between Enhanced Community Quarantine or ECQ to prevent coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
Pico added that it is not appropriate for the doctor to deflect the police personnel who are guarding the city border for trying to get in for personal reasons. In addition, police have put their lives in jeopardy to ensure that those inside the city are protected.
The arrogant doctor will face a violation of Article 359 of the Revised Penal Code or oral defamation and a violation of Article 151 or disobedience to persons in authority.
