Unite, a representation of several workers working in the said airways, said that it already made an agreement with the airways to use the business support program for about 28,000 staff, as per an article from Rappler.

The union said, however, that there will be no cap on earnings, which is set at £2,500 or $3,100 per month under the scheme.

Oliver Richardson, national officer for aviation of Unite, said that this is a good agreement considering the harsh circumstances the sector is currently facing, adding that this protects the jobs of the staff of the airways, as well as safekeeping their pay.

It will now be sent to members of the union at the airways for final approval.

As per the report, IAG. operator of the said airways, as well as Iberia, a Spanish airways carrier said on March 30 said that it would slash the flight capacity by 75% during April and May.

International airlines further canceled thousands of flights globally, which cuts off demand for passenger travel.
