QC Residents Arrested For Protesting & Asking For Food From Local Government

QC RESIDENTS ARRESTED – Amid the Coronavirus quarantine in Luzon, residents are concerned about their needs such as food and medicine.

As such, the President ordered that residents shall be given assistance and relief goods. However, not all residents were lucky enough to receive these items.

Desperate and hungry, some took it upon themselves and called for drastic measures. Such a thing happened earlier in Quezon City that led to the arrest of many residents.

In a video uploaded by ABS-CBN, you could see several residents running from authorities. Residents from Sitio San Roque, Barangay Bagong Pag-asa in Quezon City set-up a barricade in a part of EDSA.

This was to call the attention of the local government that they needed help with food from. Based on reports from ABS-CBN, the residents were ordered to disperse. However, they failed to comply.

This led the police to forcibly break-up the barricade and arrest the residents who were left running away from the authorities. Some fled successfully as the authorities were closing in.
