Gapan LGU Will Provide Vegetables to COVID-affected Households After a Sack of Rice

The Gapan City, Nueva Ecija local government unit (LGU) will provide ulam and vegetables to residents who are affected by the coronavirus.

Recently, Mayor of Gapan City Emerson Pascual, distributes sacks of rice on every household in his area. Mayor Pascual gives whole and live chickens to the residents amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Mayor together with his colleagues is giving whole chickens to each home. The residents were grateful to the kindness and generosity of the local government officials in the city.

Meanwhile, according to Pascual, shortly after they provide one heap of rice to each family, they will distribute vegetables and dishes to prevent going out of their houses.

“Pagkatapos naming malagyan ng bigas ang bawat pintuan, ulam ang kasunod niyan. Dire-diretso ang bigay namin ng ulam sa mga tao dito sa lungsod ng Gapan,” Mayor said.

“Pati yung mga farmers dito, mga magtatanim ng gulay, ang sabi ko sa kanila, sa Huwebes, kapag natapos na bigyan ng bigas ang lahat ng bahay sa Gapan, lahat ng tanim dito na gulay, vegetable, bibilhin ko, papakyawin ko at ipamimigay ko sa mga tao dito sa lungsod ng Gapan,” he added.

The mayor has a request from the national government. He hopes that they will give COVID-19 test kits to find out which residents are positive of the virus. So they can take immediate actions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“Kung may chance na matulungan kami ng national government, ang gusto namin ‘yung test kit sana. Para lahat ng PUM ay masala na namin kung sino ang mga dapat naming ibukod para hindi na kumalat, hindi na makahawa dito sa mga tao sa lungsod ng Gapan,” he said.
