Sonny Angara COVID Positive, Wife & Family Experience Discrimination

Wife of Senator Sonny Angara expressed pain after everything that has happened when the politician tested positive for COVID.

SONNY ANGARA – The family of the third Philippine senator who tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 experienced discrimination.

Based on a previous article, after Philippine senators Migz Zubiri and Aquilino Pimentel III tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the third one from the senate recorded to have contracted the viral disease is Sonny Angara.

As of March 30, 2020, the country now has 1,546 patients confirmed to have the highly contagious disease. This comes along as with cases of 78 fatalities and 42 recoveries. On social media, the senator said that he is already recovering and will have to undergo two confirmatory tests before he can be declared as “clear” of it.

Meanwhile, as he is on his way to recovery, his family and household staff have underwent a 14-day quarantine for they got in contact with him carrying the virus. However, Tootsy Angara, his wife, expressed her pain and devastation over everything that have happened to them after the senator tested positive for coronavirus.

She shared how painful it was when she was not able to hug her husband to comfort him or even take care of him like he would take care of her when she was sick. It saddened her that her “Sonny Boy” has to go through all of this alone physically.

What added more to her pain is the discrimination they have experienced after his results came out. Accordingly, some of their neighbors even wanted them out and some deliveries have refused bringing them essentials.

But she was grateful for her family and friends who still reached out to them and provided them their necessities such as water, oxygen, vitamins, fruits, vegetables, medical supplies, cleaning aids, and among others. She also recognized her doctors who tirelessly answer her inquiries.
