Matteo Guidicelli reacts to this advice from Manny Pacquiao
Actor-reservist Matteo Guidicelli reacts to the advice of Senator Manny Pacquiao regarding his mother-in-law.
During the FB Live of One Voice Pilipinas on March 29, the boxing champ shared his and wife Jinkee’s struggle before when they started their married life. He shared that his mother, popular known as Mommy Dionesia or Mommy D, was not in favor of Jinkee for her son.
However, the couple exerted effort that Mommy D would eventually accept her daughter-in-law. And the rest was history, Jinkee now has a good relationship with her mother-in-law.
Matteo Guidicello also experienced this kind of scenario. His wedding with Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo went controversial when Mommy Divine Geronimo came after the ceremony and a commotion happened. Apparently, after several years of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, the mother of Sarah is still not in favor of Matteo.
With this, the senator said, “Huwag lang natin awayin yung magulang natin. Kasi sa ayaw at sa gusto natin, iisa lang ang magulang natin.” Matteo agreed on this.
“Kapag sila nawala, mahirap yun. Hindi ko rin naman sinasabi na maka-Mama ako, na Mama’s Boy ako. That’s our responsiblity. We should love our parents,” the boxing champ added.
Matteo said that he is instilling in his mind the advice that he heard from the senator. “I feel like, also, Senator Manny, sa mga panahon na ito ba, it makes us realize how precious life is, how precious relationships are, how precious everything is. Yung mga single relationship natin sa mama, papa, kapatid natin, importante sabihin ‘Ma, Pa, I love you. Salamat sa iyo sa tanan,” the husband of Sarah said.
Manny also advised Matteo on how to handle conflicts in the relationship, based on the article. The senator said that it is important that the couple should learn to disregard their own pride.
“Kasi dapat maintindihan ng husband kung anong posisyon niya, maintindihan ng wife kung ano’ng pagiging wife niya. Kapag magkakaroon ng overlapping ‘yan at hindi magkakaintindihan, kanya-kanyang pataasan, hindi sila nagkakaintindihan, sasabog na. So, teamwork talaga palagi,” Senator Manny stressed out.
