DSWD 6 Prepares Food Packs For Residents Affected By Quarantine

DSWD 6 – The Western Visayas division of Department of Social Welfare and Development has prepared about 24,200 food packs for quarantine-affected people.

The said packs are prepared should the local government requiire more for the public affected by the quarantine meant to prevent the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) spread.

Each of the said packages contains six coffee sachets, 14 sardine cans, 14 corned beef cans, and rice weighing about six kilos, according to a report from Panay News.

1,700 packs are already allotted for the province of Aklan, specifically propositioned in Kalibo, Buruanga and Makato) says Luna Moscoso, chief of the disaster response and management division of DSWD Region VI.

As for other food packs allotted, here are the following:

  • 2,600 – Antique placed in Barbaza, Tobias Fornier, Patnongon, and Bugasong
  • 4,000 – Capiz placed in Dumarao, Jamindan, Maayon, and Panit-an
  • 3,819 – Iloilo placed in Carles; among those were 1,000 each in Carles and Calinog, and 819 in Concepcion
  • 2,4000 – Negros Occidental ; among thosed were 1,000 each in Bago and Talisay City, and 200 in Bacolod City.
  • 2,000 – Guimaras

As per the report, the placing is meant to make a more efficient release of food packs. The rest are placed in the regional warehouse of DSWD VI in Otan town, Iloilo.
