There are 3 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bacolod City

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia confirmed on Friday, March 27, that there are 3 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the City of Smiles.

On March 20, the first case of coronavirus in Bacolod was recorded. Based on a previous report, a 56-year old male was tested positive for COVID-19. Reportedly, he has a travel history to London.

A week after that announcement, 3 new cases were recorded. In a press conference held on Friday, Mayor Leonardia announced that a 27-year-old who was exposed to a COVID-19 patient also got infected.

Another new coronavirus patient is 40 years old who had a travel history to Quezon City and went back to Bacolod on March 8 while the other one had a travel history to Manila and went back to Bacolod on March 7.

Mayor Leonardia said that this information came from Western Visayas Regional Director Marlyn Convocar. The Mayor also said that the 3 new confirmed COVID-19 patients in Bacolod City are in stable condition and that they are now recovering. He also said that the patients are still in isolation.

Meanwhile, Leonardia issued Executive Order No.26 an order placing Bacolod under enhanced community quarantine from March 30 to April 14, 2020.

As of the afternoon of March 27, the total recorded confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines reached 803. The number of deaths has reached 54.
