Mayor Isko Moreno Gives Temporary Shelters for Homeless and Street Dwellers

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko’ Moreno Domagoso provided temporary shelters for homeless and street dwellers amid coronavirus threat.

Recently, the Manila City Government rescued street dwellers and homeless people that could also be infected by coronavirus disease (COVID-19) amid the on-going enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

Local government units reach out to the homeless and street dwellers, brought to Delpan Sports Complex to stay there temporarily as the quarantine is still on-going. City’s government vowed to give their needs, including meals during their stay.

City Mayor Isko Moreno provides modular tents, to give them more comfortable and protected at the same time.  On Friday, Mayor Isko Moreno together with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna visited the temporary shelter of street dwellers.

Moreno said that the people who messaged him about the condition of the street dwellers don’t need to worry anymore. The Mayor assured that there’s enough food supply in Manila City.

There are also hygiene kits and face masks provided to each. Currently, there are 145 evacuees in the Delpan Covered Court of which 22 are Manileño, 72 are from other cities and 51 are homeless.
