Comedienne-host Ruby Rodriguez reacted to the condolences she received on the “death” of her sister who is a doctor.

Amid the health crisis affecting the Philippines and the rest of the world because of the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), fake news is also spreading.

One victim of false information spreading online is the sister of Ruby. Dr. Salvacion “Sally” Rodriguez-Gatchalian is the sister of the Eat Bulaga host. The doctor is the president of the Philippine Pediatric Society.

Just recently, Ruby Rodriguez shared that she has been receiving condolences because of fake news spreading on social media regarding her sister. Based on the article from the Philippine Entertainment Portal, a netizen posted that the president of the Philippine Pediatric Society already passed away.

In line with this, Ruby broke her silence through her recent Twitter post. She said that she has been quiet about the health condition of her sister but she was forced to speak up because of the condolences she received.

“I have been quiet all this time about Dr Sally Gatchalian status. Yes she is my sister. Yes she is confined,” the Kapuso star wrote in her Twitter post.

Ruby Rodriguez added, “Yes we all are praying and scared. But when Fake News spreads and people texting me Condolences. I Ask Please She is fighting! She is weak but stable. Please [praying emojis].”

Based on the article, there were other netizens who immediately reacted and called out to the netizen who shared the fake news.
