Netizen Shares Metro Manila Skies Clearing Up Since Luzon Lockdown Goes Viral

A concerned netizen shares photos showing skies of Metro Manila clearing up since the day Luzon lockdown was imposed due to the COVID-19 threat.

Amid the ongoing ‘Enhance Community Quarantine’ in Luzon declared by President Rodrigo Duterte as prevention from the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The new quarantine measures are still aiming to contain the spread of the virus. This entails strict home quarantine, suspension of transportation, regulation of food and essential health services provision, and heightened presence of uniformed personnel. 

Meanwhile, a Facebook netizen named Donald Manlapaz shared series of different views of Metro Manila since the enhance community quarantine was imposed in entire Luzon. He described as his “view every morning.”

As people lock themselves up and the streets are almost clear of vehicles amid the enhanced community quarantine, it looks like it brought a positive effect on our environment. The photos from Manlapaz showed how for four days, the skies have cleared up as the smog that usually fills Metro Manila’s skyline has lifted.

Manlapaz said it reminded him of the good old days when there were fewer cars and lesser pollution. He wrote, “The earth is breathing. This is my view every morning. Parang Manila during the 80s and 90s ‘yung streets.”

His photos have gone viral on social media as many netizens were amazed to the self-regeneration of our mother earth. They said that coronavirus is the tool heal herself from the pollution and deterioration made by humans.

Meanwhile, other countries also show the effect of coronavirus in their country as some of their polluted and crowded place gradually recovering. This is all due to countries imposing lockdowns and travel restrictions to curve the spread of the virus.
