Poor Filipino Citizens Expressed Sentiments Towards Enhanced Community Quarantine

MAHIRAP MAGING MAHIRAP – Poor Filipino citizens expressed their disappointment and get emotional upon the implementation of enhanced community quarantine.

The Philippine government and health authorities are currently making efforts to prevent the rapid spread of the new coronavirus disease affecting thousands of people in different countries all around the world.

Earlier this week, President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire Luzon on enhanced community quarantine with the aim to contain the spread of the deadly virus. The health scare is now causing fear and panic to the Filipino people.

However, many Filipinos especially those who are living in poverty are severely affected by the lockdown protocols. Most of our countrymen’s livelihoods are suspended due to the implementation of the measure.

Recently, several Filipino citizens have expressed their sentiments and get emotional due to the imposition of the lockdown protocols. Many employees could not work due to the suspension of mass transportation.

A Twitter user named Nikolo Baua has shared the video footage of a 68-year-old vendor Carlota who was forced to walk from Caloocan to Divisoria for two hours because there was no public transport. She needs to buy vegetables, so she could sell it and earn money to buy food.

Pinoy drivers also burst into tears because the government is implementing mass transport suspension that severely affects their livelihood. Some vendors could sell a few or nothing due to the fewer people passing the street.
