Vallacar Transit Inc., Ceres Bus Owner, Stops Inter-Provincial Travel
VALLACAR TRANSIT INC – Vallacar Transit Inc., Ceres Bus liner operator, recently halted its service inter-provincial trips.
According to Panay News, this includes trips to Dumaguete City from Bacolod City, San Carlos City, Kabankalan City, and Hinoba-an.
This came after Attorney Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, called on the bus giant to cooperate with continuing measures to prevent the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Vallacar said, however, that they will still continue providing trips within Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Cebu, and the provinces of Panay Island.
As per the report, Diaz said that all corporations have corporate social responsibility.
This statement came after Eugenio Jose Lacson, governor of Negros Occidental, ordered to close the province’s borders, ports, and airports until April 14.
“These measures are not just for us but for all,” the provincial official added. “It’s now time to prioritize something other than health; it’s time to prioritize our health and safety, and the lives of our people.”
Earlier, Governor Lacson urged Negrenses to avoid leisure travel. This also came after his order to close the borders.
He also said that all passengers who come from Metro Manila will be counted as Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) and will undergo a 14-day home quarantine.
