AirAsia Offers 6M Promo Seats Despite COVID-19 Fears
AIRASIA – Budget airlines AirAsia offers 6 million promotional seats despite travel distress over novel coronavirus.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, the tourism industry said the Philippines lost about P14.8 billion in February. Lots of tourists postponed their vacation due to fears of contracting the coronavirus.
The International Transport Association (IATA) said the pandemic could cost passenger airlines up to $113B in lost revenue this year.
But the coronavirus pandemic didn’t stop AirAsia from imposing promo flights. According to the report, the CEO the leading low-cost carriers in Asia, Karen Chan, said offers promotional seats despite travel woes over COVID-19. On Saturday, the budget airline they are offering 6 million promo seats for its international and local flights even as the air travel worldwide slowed down due to the outbreak.

AirAsia BIG loyalty program members can enjoy discounted flights from Cebu to Kuala Lumpur, from Manila to Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Prinsesa, and Caticlan, from Clark to Kaohsiung and many more for P1.
Flights from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul, Fukuoka, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Perth, Taipei, and Sydney are also offered for as low as P990.
Based on the report, AirAsia said the promo period is from March 9 to 15. BIG members of the budget carrier can take advantage of the 24hr priority access period on Mar. 8. The travel period of their latest Big sale is from September 7, 2020, to July 1, 2021.
