UK Prime Minister Says COVID-19 Will Cause Many Deaths
UK PRIME MINISTER ON COVID-19 – UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tagged the new coronavirus as the “worst public health crisis in a generation”.
Currently, COVID-19 has infected over 134,559 people and caused the deaths of more than 4,972. However, the number of recovered had increased to 68,939, more than half of the infected.
As such, Borish Johnson warned that the virus would continue to spread worldwide. Additionally, he said that people should prepare for the “reality” of severe disruption for many months.
Likewise, Italy had already been in a state of paralysis. The country’s Prime Minister declared the entirety of the nation under quarantine. Moreover, only essential businesses like pharmacies and grocery stores would remain open.
Meanwhile, Johnson admitted in a press conference that they were merely “delaying” the virus’s inevitable spread. In addition, he warned that “many more” people are going to die.

Also, UK’s Prime Minister recommended all school trips abroad be canceled. Similarly, he told people over 70 not to go on cruises.
However, he didn’t close schools and banned mass gatherings. Although, several countries hit by the virus already implemented that measure to prevent its spread.
As per the article, the UK’s number of confirmed cases has risen to 130. Along with this, the death toll increased by 10 within the last 24 hours.
According to experts, the peak of the outbreak in the UK might not arrive until 10-14 weeks. As such, chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance stated the true number of infections was 5,000-10,000.
