Davao del Sur Implements “No facemask, No entry” Policy for Employees

Davao del Sur Provincial Capitol implements “not facemask, no entry” policy to all government employees amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Governor Douglas Cagas on Monday ordered “no facemask, no entry” policy in government offices to prevent infections and contracting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). They will release P20 million from the calamity fund as immediate implementation of the province, according to Cagas.

The released budget will be used to build additional isolation rooms and to purchase surgical masks and sanitary essentials for employees and clients. Cagas also urges City mayor and barangay officials to set up isolation facilities.

The governor confirms that no COVID-19 symptoms have been reported in the province. Recently, the health department reported new cases of coronavirus. The total of infected in the Philippines is not at 24. The Filipinos are monitoring the rapid increase in the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the country. 

On March 9, 2020, the DOH revealed the ten (10) new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. All the patients are Filipinos and three (3) of them have no travel history abroad.

Following the announcement of the health department, in a press briefing, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed that four (4) more people tested positive for the disease.
